On August 7, 2024, Seattle Landscape Architect Brooks Kolb gave a lecture on “Creating Spaces:  A Landscape Architect’s Approach to Garden Design” at the Edmonds In Bloom Garden Celebration in Edmonds, WA.

Starting with a brief history of garden design, Brooks went on to show and describe some of the quirky illustrations that celebrated twentieth-century landscape architect, Garrett Eckbo, prepared for his 1950 book, Landscape for Living.  Those illustrations were (and are) especially useful for explaining garden design principles to the general public.
